The short version

Bogstav collects nothing. Your children’s names, letters and stars stay on your iPhone. There’s no account, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking.

Your children’s letters

Names, animals, colours, stars and which letters have been written are stored only in the app on your iPhone. They aren’t sent to a server or shared with anyone. Deleting a child, or the app, deletes them. The strokes your child draws aren’t saved.

Handwriting

When your child writes a word, it’s read on the iPhone with Apple’s built-in text recognition (Vision). The writing isn’t saved or sent anywhere.

Reading aloud

Letters and words are spoken by the iPhone’s own system voices. Bogstav doesn’t use the microphone or the camera.

No network, no analytics

Bogstav doesn’t need the internet and sends nothing anywhere. It contains no analytics, advertising or tracking code and no third-party services. The links in its About section only open when you tap them. This website sets no cookies and loads nothing from other sites.
